November-December 2009 - DNAWORKS goes to Israel! - DNAWORKS has been invited to create a dance work for Beta Dance Troupe (Haifa), an Ethiopian-Israeli dance company and to work with Peace Child Israel (Tel Aviv), an organization that works with Israeli, Arab, and Jewish youth and teens.
July 14-28, 2009 - 10th Annual La MaMa International Symposium for Directors -
Daniel Banks will contrubute to Session 2 of this year's International Symposium in Italy, sponsored by La MaMa Umbria as a training program for professional directors, choreographers and actors. Through a set of participatory workshops, attendees will be exposed to a variety of theatrical perspectives during the Symposium, from instructors who will expand their sense of what is possible in the theatre.
June 14-21, 2009 - Adam and Daniel have been awarded a residency for The Borders Project at Centrum (www.centrum.org).
April 23, 2009 - Shim’u Koleinu: Jewish Diversity and the Arts -
Adam and Daniel recently showed We Are All One: The Jews of Sefwi Wiawso and led discussions in Atlanta, New York City, Long Island, Los Angeles, Toronto, Salt Lake City, and Berkeley, CA. Upcoming programs at Wellesley College and Babson College, Boston, MA are scheduled for September 16 and 17.
February 2009 - Pretending To Be Something, Now Coming From Nothing - In February 2009, "Pretending To Be Something, Now Coming From Nothing" had its Central American premiere at the San Diego/Tijuana DANCEonFILM Festival in Tijuana and will have its South African premiere at FNB Dance Umbrella 2009 in Johannesburg.
